May 28, 2025

Community Options was proud to have New York State Director Fatimat Adekoya participate in the InterAgency Council of Developmental Disabilities Agencies (IAC) 13th Annual Conference, held May 28–29, 2025, in Midtown Manhattan, New York.
The two-day conference, themed “Advocate–Innovate–Elevate,” brought together leaders, advocates, and service providers from across the developmental disabilities community to collaborate, share ideas, and strengthen advocacy efforts. Hosted at the UJA Federation of New York, the event focused on advancing innovative solutions and reinforcing a shared commitment to improving services and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.
During the conference, Adekoya connected with fellow advocates and leaders dedicated to strengthening care and inclusion. Among those she met with were OPWDD Commissioner Willow Baer and Dr. Hirah Mir, continuing important conversations about the future of services and supports in New York.
The conference also highlighted the importance of partnership across organizations. Community Options was proud to engage with collaborative networks such as Community Care Rx, working alongside partners who share a commitment to improving the quality of care and elevating the voices of individuals with developmental disabilities.
Events like the IAC Annual Conference provide valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, build partnerships, and reinforce the collective mission of advocacy, innovation, and inclusion. Community Options remains committed to working with leaders and organizations across the field to help shape a stronger future for people with developmental disabilities.
