Pittsburgh, PA– Community Options, Inc. in Pittsburgh recently received a donation from Bob’s Discount Furniture to provide furniture for the region’s first children’s home.
Community Options operates small, community homes for children and adults with disabilities. These children have spent most of their lives living in a congregate setting and are transitioning to a personalized community-based environment. The home will open later this year and provide supports to two young women with disabilities.
“We are grateful to have Bob Discount Furniture’s continued support as a partner.” said Bridget Haney, Regional Director of Western Pennsylvania for Community Options. “Their donation will have a significant impact on the two young women who will be living in the home.”
The furniture donated is highlighted by multiple bedroom sets and sofas, among other items.
“Every child deserves a stable and loving home to help support their growth and matriculation.” said Lindsay Ruszcyk, Director of Community Outreach for Bob’s Discount Furniture. “Bob’s Discount Furniture recognizes the invaluable resources that Community Options provides to its residents and we are honored to donate furniture. We hope this donation will help create a nurturing environment for residents and staff for years to come.”
Community Options in Pittsburgh provides housing and employment supports to over 100 people with disabilities. Nationally, Community Options supports over 4,000 people across ten states.
