Carnicella Named Community Options’ State Director of New York

PRINCETON, NJ – Effective July 1, 2016, Community Options Inc. appointed Michael Carnicella as the State Director of New York.  In this role, he will have direct oversight of all the executive directors in New York as well as budget and talent recruitment, program and advocacy.

Carnicella graduated with an MA from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Employment and Labor Relations following his BA in Human Services. In 2011, Michael started working with Community Options as a Program Manager in the Pittsburgh Region.  He soon was promoted to Program Specialist of Westmoreland County in 2012.

After successfully opening 6 homes in Westmoreland, he was elevated to Associate Executive Director.  He continued expanding the region and currently the Region is working on the 13th house in addition to supporting 21 individuals in day program and employment services.  As the Executive Director in 2015, Michael developed a Residential Transition Program as a Capstone Project for the Leadership Academy.

This program created an additional funding source for Community Options and has allowed the nonprofit to support individuals in need at a much faster rate.  Through the mission of Community Options, Michael has fostered a positive and team-oriented environment for the individuals that Community Options supports, as well as the team that surrounds the individuals.
