Center for Advocacy Leaders Welcomes New Jersey State Senator Andrew Zwicker
May 1, 2025

The Center for Advocacy Leaders (CAL), a training program facilitated by Community Options and funded by the New Jersey Council on Developmental Disabilities, provides individuals with disabilities the opportunity to build self-advocacy skills through monthly sessions, guest speakers, and leadership development opportunities.
On May 1, 2025, CAL participants welcomed New Jersey State Senator Andrew Zwicker for a hybrid discussion hosted from the Daily Plan It at 14 Farber Road in Princeton, NJ.
Sen. Zwicker engaged with self-advocates, answering questions and listening to concerns from participants attending in person and joining virtually from multiple locations. The session provided an opportunity for individuals to connect directly with a policymaker and share perspectives on issues impacting their lives and communities.
The event was coordinated by Community Options Chief Strategy Officer Wei-Han Zhou and Director of Development Yongxin Zhou. Virtual participation in the event came from Community Options’ Denville, NJ office with support from James Geraghty, Alexis Best, and Jim Hartman.
The Center for Advocacy Leaders continues to empower individuals with disabilities to speak up, make informed decisions, and advocate for themselves and others.
