GREENVILLE, SC – Community Options, a leading national nonprofit supporting people with disabilities, announced the appointment of Anthony Thompson as Executive Director of Greenville, South Carolina. In this role, Anthony will oversee development and operations within the region.

“I am delighted to appoint Anthony Thompson as Executive Director in Greenville,” said Lindsey Daniel, State Director of South Carolina for Community Options. “With over 20 years of healthcare leadership and community engagement experience, Anthony’s expertise will enable our continued growth and enhance our programs in Greenville.”

Community Options develops innovative housing and employment support for over 6,000 people with disabilities and their families across 12 states. In South Carolina, Community Options has locations in Columbia, Greenville and Summerville with 37 homes and over 360 supported individuals.

Anthony has a long history of leadership in health and human services including working for the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. He previously served with Community Options as Director of Transition Services in Columbia, SC. Most recently, Anthony worked as a Senior Manager for a national social care platform.

“Every person with a disability has the right to live and work in the community of their choice,” said Anthony Thompson. “I’m excited to return to an organization that advocates for those rights and look forward to leading our team in Greenville.

Anthony holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from Florida A&M University, a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Florida State University, and a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Management from Liberty University.
