FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Press Release .pdf
PRINCETON, NJ – (July 25, 2014) Earlier this week, Community Options, Inc. named Colleen Hoffman the new Executive Director in Southern New Jersey.
Hoffman will provide oversight to Community Options’ operations in Atlantic, Camden, Cumberland and Gloucester County. She will oversee six of the 102 group homes Community Options operates in the state of New Jersey.
Hoffman earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Bradley University. The Vineland, NJ native possesses over 12 years experience working in the field of human services including program development for people with disabilities moving from institutions.
“I’m excited to have Colleen join the Community Options’ team,” said Community Options Regional VP of New Jersey, Svetlana Repic-Qira. “She has a great deal of experience transitioning people out of state institutions into their own homes in the community. I’m confident her knowledge and advocacy will assist us to continue our mission to provide housing and employment to people with disabilities.”
Hoffman will play an integral part in Community Options’ participation in Return Home New Jersey and Olmstead initiatives. Return Home New Jersey (RHNJ) brings adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities back to New Jersey from out-of-state centers. Many of these people were placed out of state as students with special needs and who transitioned into costly, congregate residential facilities upon graduation. The Olmstead Initiative is the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities’ plan for moving 1,850 residents from its seven developmental centers into the community over eight years, which began in May of 2007.
Community Options, Inc. is a national nonprofit organization that provides housing and employment supports to thousands of people with disabilities and are proud to be a part of New Jersey’s initiatives to better serve the needs of those with disabilities.
