Community Options Appoints Elizabeth Nelson as Iowa State Director

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA – Community Options, a leading national nonprofit supporting people with disabilities, announced the appointment Elizabeth Nelson as State Director of Iowa. In her new role, Elizabeth will oversee operations and development for Community Options throughout in Iowa.
“I am delighted to welcome Elizabeth to Community Options in Iowa,” said Robert Stack, Community Options’ President and CEO. “Her proven expertise and achievements will help enhance our efforts in Iowa and bring further success to our mission.”
Community Options develops innovative housing and employment support for over 6,000 people with disabilities and families across 12 states. Community Options entered the State of Iowa in 2022 and has opened seven community-based homes for people with disabilities who transitioned from the now-closed Glenwood Resource Center.
“I am excited to step into the role as State Director for Community Options,” said Elizabeth Nelson. “I am eager to join the Iowa team to help further the mission of the organization and expand operations across the state.”
Elizabeth has over 15 years of experience in leadership and operational strategizing. She holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Sociology and a master’s in social work with an emphasis in Leadership, both from Indiana University.
