San Antonio, TX – Community Options, Inc., a leading national non-profit supporting people with disabilities, announced the appointment of Lawrence Davis as Texas State Director. In his new role, Davis will oversee all operations and development in the state.

Nationally, Community Options develops innovative housing and employment supports for 5,000 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In Texas, Community Options supports 800 people in community-based services.

“Since joining Community Options, Lawrence has quickly proven himself as a strong leader and advocate for people with significant disabilities,” said Greg Thoennes, Regional Vice President of Community Options. “It’s clear that his skillset, experience and forward thinking will be an asset as our organization continues to grow in Texas.”

Lawrence joined Community Options in 2021 as Director of Employment and Community Services in San Antonio. He has more than 20 years of experience managing services for people with disabilities. He previously worked at the Local Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority in Austin and at a community-based agency in San Antonio.

“People with disabilities deserve the opportunities to succeed in all aspects of their life,” said Lawrence. “I am excited to do my part as State Director to provide them support to achieve the greatest level of independence possible.”

Lawrence received his bachelor’s degree in Human Sciences from Wayland Baptist University. He also holds two master’s degrees from Webster University in Counseling and Management.
