Community Options Appoints M. Christina Montoya as Assistant Director of Positive Options in New Mexico

LAS CRUCES, NM — Community Options, a leading national nonprofit supporting people with disabilities, is pleased to announce the appointment of M. Christina Montoya as Assistant Director of Positive Options in New Mexico.
Christina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and brings more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health, education and community services, with expertise in program development, crisis intervention and behavior support for youth and adults.
In her new role, she will lead the development and implementation of Positive Options behavioral services across New Mexico, supporting individuals with disabilities through trauma-informed, evidence-based practices that promote independence and community inclusion.
“Christina brings extensive experience in behavioral health and community-based services,” said Robert Stack, President and CEO of Community Options. “Her leadership, clinical expertise and commitment to culturally responsive care will help strengthen our Positive Options program and expand behavioral supports for individuals and families throughout New Mexico.”
Positive Options is the behavior support services division of Community Options, providing person-centered, evidence-based support for individuals with disabilities. By working closely with individuals, families and care teams, Positive Options helps promote independence, improve quality of life and address behavioral needs. As part of Community Options, it strengthens the organization’s ability to deliver comprehensive, supportive services.

Christina holds a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University. Christina serves as Vice President of the National Latino Behavioral Health Association, Vice President of New Mexico CASA Association and President of the New Mexico Military Institute Board of Regents.
Community Options operates in 12 states, providing residential and employment support services to more than 7,000 individuals with disabilities and their families. In New Mexico, the organization supports more than 500 individuals, helping people live more independently and actively participate in their communities.
