Community Options Celebrates Ribbon Cutting at New Office in Scotrun, Pennsylvania

May 21, 2025

SCOTRUN, PA — Community Options, Inc., a national nonprofit organization supporting people with disabilities, celebrated the opening of its new Carbon and Monroe Counties office with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 21, 2025, at 117 Rose Street in Scotrun, Pennsylvania.

The new office serves as a local hub for coordinating and expanding residential and employment services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the region, including Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg.

Initial planning for expanded services in the area began in September 2023, when Community Options leadership met with Carbon-Monroe-Pike County intellectual disability administrators to assess regional needs and service capacity. In March 2024, Community Options established its first Carbon and Monroe Counties office, laying the groundwork for continued growth.

The opening of the Scotrun office represents the next phase of that work, strengthening local coordination with community partners, staff, and families while supporting the ongoing development of residential and employment services across the region.
