Community Options Celebrates the Career Success of Peter Palowski

August 14, 2025 | Press release.pdf

PATERSON, NJ – Community Options, Inc., a leading national nonprofit that provides housing and employment supports for people with disabilities, is proud to highlight the career achievements of Peter Palowski, whose journey through the organization’s supported employment program has led to more than two years of success with the Passaic County Human Resources Department.

“Peter has greatly improved the efficiency of our operations. I never have to worry about missing files or whether tasks are being done correctly,” said Rosa Molina, Director of the County of Passaic Human Resources Department. “It has truly been a pleasure having him as part of our team; he brings a light to our office with his positivity, dedication, and thoughtful contributions. He not only meets expectations—he often exceeds them.”

Peter works as an HR Clerk for the County of Passaic, where he handles file reviews and unemployment responses, creates personnel folders for new employees, tracks probationary reviews and maintains the County’s Indeed account. He also serves as a reliable backup when other staff members are out, ensuring smooth operations.

“Part of Peter’s success is a wonderful team of coaches,” said Aneta Palowski, Peter’s mother. “They guided him on the job search, interview process, conducting site visits and weekly check-ins. We feel blessed with such an inclusive office work environment, great co-workers and amazing coaches.”

Peter, who works 25 hours a week, says that supportive co-workers and having a sense of purpose are the best parts of his job. His greatest challenge has been adjusting to life in the workforce, especially not having summer break. Recently, he has taken the initiative to make more phone calls and send supervisors due dates for new hire progress reports.

“Peter’s story is exactly why we are committed to expanding supported employment opportunities nationwide,” said Robert Stack, President and CEO of Community Options. “With the right support, people with disabilities can thrive in the workplace and make invaluable contributions to their communities.”

Through Community Options’ supported employment program, Peter worked closely with a job coach to identify his strengths, prepare for interviews and secure a position that matched his skills. Over the past two years, his confidence has grown tremendously, and his employer envisions an expanded role for him in the future.
