Philadelphia, PA — Community Options, a leading national nonprofit that develops housing and employment for people with disabilities, announced that President and CEO Robert Stack has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Advocacy and Resources for Autism and Intellectual Disability (PAR).
PAR is the largest association of disability service provider agencies in Pennsylvania. It’s member organizations employ 50,000 Pennsylvanians and support tens of thousands of people in 9,000 locations. The Board of Directors consists of top executives from 17 member organizations.
“Since the founding of Community Options in 1989, Robert has led their effort to support people with disabilities in the community,” said Mark Davis, President and CEO of PAR. “He is passionately committed to working with people with disabilities to achieve their vision for their lives. Robert is a welcome addition to the PAR Board.”
Stack has been an advocate for people with disabilities for forty years. In 1989, he founded Community Options to give people opportunities to leave institutions and move back into the community. Community Options has grown into a national organization and supports 5,000 people across ten states, including 650 people in Pennsylvania.
“PAR has been a constant leader in advocating for service providers including Community Options to state and federal lawmakers,” said Robert Stack. “I look forward to working with the Board members to provide strategic guidance to further improve the lives of people with disabilities.”
