PRINCETON, NJ – (March 27, 2015) Three years ago, Community Options of Santa Fe began providing group homes to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The short-term and long-term goal is to grow and offer the best Supported Living services in the Santa Fe area.
Community Options in Santa Fe Has Big Plans to Support People with DisabilitiesCommunity Options of Santa Fe operates several homes on Airport Road that can house up to four residents each. The properties are single level, with two baths and private rooms. The neighborhood is quiet with easy access to restaurants, shopping, movies and libraries for the residents. Transportation is available for destinations outside of walking distance.
Community Options is planning to obtain more homes in the very near future.
“Community Options strives to provide housing and care of the highest quality,” said Community Options Executive Director of Albuquerque and Santa Fe, Bill Wagner.
“Recently after spending the day with staff setting up her son’s room, Esther, mother of one of our 41-year-old residents phoned me informing me that she cried all the way home after leaving that day. When I inquired what was wrong, she replied, ‘Nothing, I was overcome with tears of joy knowing that my son has a place like that to call home with staff that cares so much for him.’”
Since its founding in 1989, Community Options provides housing and employment support to people with disabilities. Community Options possesses the most dedicated and caring staff to assist individuals in living their everyday lives.
“Coming to work each day, knowing I am making the lives of the individuals we serve better means everything to me. To be able to do this in such a beautiful home makes it even better,” said Sabrina, house manager for the newest Community Options homes.
