Community Options Named Largest Nonprofit I/DD Service Provider

PRINCETON, NJ – Community Options, Inc., a leading nonprofit organization supporting people with disabilities, was recognized as the largest nonprofit organization to exclusively support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities by the BHB-CFHS 50 Report.

Behavioral Health Business and Consulting for Human Services (BHB-CFHS) partnered to collect information on nonprofits across the country. Their report, BHB-CFHS 50 Report, ranked the top 50 behavioral health nonprofits across the country based on the services provided, scope of the organization and revenue.

Community Options was ranked 1st in the exclusively intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) category, 6th in the overall I/DD category, and 8th in the country overall. These accolades come from the organization’s $500 million budget, scope across 12 states and over 35 years of service.

Founded in 1989, Community Options provides residential and employment supports to over 6,700 of people with disabilities across the country. The organization operates over 700 homes and 2,800 employment programs that promote independence and dignity.

The BHB–CFHS 50 Report is the first comprehensive ranking of nonprofit behavioral health providers and highlights the critical role of mission-driven organizations in today’s health care landscape.
