Community Options Opens New Office in Smyrna

Smyrna, TN — Community Options, a leading national nonprofit supporting people with disabilities, held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of its new office in Smyrna, Tennessee.
The event featured remarks from Smyrna Mayor Mary Esther Reed and Commissioner Brad Turner from the Tennessee Department of Disabilities and Aging. Attendees praised the organization’s commitment to fostering independence, inclusion, and meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities.
“We are thrilled to expand our presence in Rutherford County with this new office,” said Meika McClendon. “This marks an important step in our mission to ensure that people with disabilities have access to the housing, employment, and support they deserve. We’re grateful for the support of Mayor Reed, Commissioner Turner, and the entire Smyrna community.”
The new Smyrna location joins four other regional offices in Tennessee, including Chattanooga, Cookeville, Greater Knoxville, and Nashville. Statewide, Community Options has over 55 homes and supports more than 250 individuals with disabilities and their families.
“The Town of Smyrna is pleased to have Community Options in Smyrna to provide residential and employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities,” said Mayor Mary Esther Reed. “We appreciate this valuable service in our community.”
This new office will provide essential services to promote community inclusion and independence for individuals with disabilities, ensuring they can live and work in supportive environments tailored to their needs.
