AMARILLO, TX — Community Options, a leading national nonprofit supporting people with disabilities, is pleased to announce the promotion of Yvonne Mercer to Executive Director of Amarillo, Texas.

Community Options develops innovative housing and employment support for over 7,000 people with disabilities and families across 12 states. In Texas, Community Options supports over 1,600 individuals and their families through housing and employment opportunities.

“Yvonne’s unwavering dedication to empowering individuals with disabilities and her leadership within our team made this a well-deserved promotion,” said Samantha Cutler, Regional Vice President of Community Options. “Her leadership will help ensure people with disabilities in Amarillo have the supports they need to live meaningful lives in the community.”

In her new role, Yvonne will oversee Community Options’ residential and day habilitation services in Amarillo and surrounding areas, advancing the organization’s mission of community inclusion. Since joining Community Options in 2022 as a Provider Service Coordinator, she has played a key role in coordinating care, connecting individuals to critical resources and supporting both medical and behavioral health needs.

“I am honored to serve as Executive Director in Amarillo,” said Yvonne. “I look forward to working with our team to expand opportunities for people with disabilities to thrive in the community.”

A lifelong resident of Amarillo, Yvonne received a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from West Texas A&M University and is certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid.
