Berkeley County Council approved more than $1 million in Community Development Block Grant funding to 26 local agencies and nonprofit organizations during its meeting on June 23, 2025.

Community Options, Inc. was awarded $80,000 to support interior renovations to improve accessibility, as well as the addition of a generator to enhance emergency preparedness.

The funding, provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), supports public facilities and services that address community development needs and expand opportunities for local residents.

Community Options continues to partner with local and state leaders to strengthen community-based services and improve accessibility for individuals with disabilities in South Carolina.
