September 21, 2021 | Press Release.pdf
Marlton, NJ – Community Options, Inc. will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, October 4th at 11:00 AM for the unveiling of a new solar roof panel at one of their community-based homes. The ceremony will take place at a home in Marlton, New Jersey and will highlight the agency’s commitment to providing renewable energy to homes that support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Community Options is a national nonprofit that supports 5,000 people with disabilities through innovative housing and employment programs in 10 states. The solar panel project was made possible through the generosity of Spano Partners Holdings, LLC. (SPH), which is donating all the solar panels installed on Community Options’ homes.
“I am proud to announce that Community Options will be able to do our part in lessening the carbon footprint in the state, while also ensuring that the people with disabilities we support are kept safe and have the power they need in their homes in the event of a power outage,” said Robert Stack, President and CEO. “Thank you to Jim Spano and his team for their contribution to make this all happen.”
Community Options operates 600 homes nationally, including over 150 in New Jersey. With the continued support of Spano Partners Holdings, Community Options will install solar roof panels on over 30 homes in the State.
“As the parent of a child with cerebral palsy, serving the most vulnerable citizens alongside Community Options has special meaning and allows me to contribute to their most admiral goal, improving the lives of people with disabilities through private housing and employment when families are unable to care for their special needs,” said James Spano, Managing Partner of Spano Partners Holdings.
Solar panels and generators can have life-saving implications for homes where people with significant disabilities live.
Adds Spano, “We will provide a battery storage system to enable their homes to be resilient and remain powered even when their neighbors’ power is off, addressing their special power needs for medical equipment and powerchairs that enable mobility, particularly in emergencies.”
