Community Options to Hold Spring Golf Event to Benefit Individuals

April 12, 2017 | Press Release.pdf

union-golf-clubPRINCETON, NJ (April 12, 2017) – On May 22, Community Options, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing housing and employment support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will host its annual Spring Golf Classic at Union League Golf Club at Torresdale in Philadelphia, PA.

All of the proceeds benefit Community Options and the people it supports, with a goal set at over $100,000.

“Planning the annual golf event is always a joy; not only because the weather is getting nicer, but because we have a great opportunity to further assist the people we support,” said Community Options Enterprises Board of Directors Trustee, Phil Lian. “The fact that we are returning to the site of our first-ever golf outing from over 20 years ago makes it all the more special. It’s even more special because the entire clubhouse and course was upgraded to the highest of standards by the Union League of Philadelphia. We look forward to a great event.”

Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with lunch served at 11 a.m. The shotgun start will kick off the golf festivities at 12 p.m. At the conclusion of the round, a dinner and award ceremony will be held around 5:30 p.m.

Sponsorship opportunities start at $500 and registration fees begin at $400. Deadline for both is May 10.

The first-ever Community Options golf outing on July 21, 1993 was held at this exact course, named Torresdale Frankford Country Club at the time. The Union League purchased the club in 2014 and after major renovations it was reopened as the Union League Golf Club at Torresdale. It is currently recognized as the top city golf club in the country by Platinum Clubs of America. It is located at 3801 Grant Avenue in Philadelphia.
