Cupid’s Chase 5K in Moorestown raises funds for those with disabilities

On Saturday morning, people across 33 cities in 10 states will participate in the ninth annual Cupid’s Chase 5K run, presented by Community Options Inc.

Locally the event will be held at Strawbridge Lake Park, 231 Haines Drive, Moorestown, where the race will start at 10 a.m. and registration will begin at 8 a.m.

Participants may receive a shirt labeled Available or Unavailable to wear for the race, to signal to others whether they are single on this Valentine’s Day. Runners also will receive a finisher medal, a goody bag and refreshments.

Community Options is a national nonprofit organization that provides housing and employment support to people with disabilities. Every year, Community Options holds a 5K to raise money to help support individuals with disabilities in their local communities.

In the last three years, Community Options raised over $700,000, with nearly 5,000 runners in attendance across the country in 2016.

The 5K registration fee is $30 through Friday and $40 at the race.
