Cupid’s Chase 5K in Morristown raises money
Community Options, a nonprofit organization in New Jersey that provides employment and housing support to people with disabilities, hosted its sixth annual Cupid’s Chase 5K run at the Daily Plan It in Morristown on Saturday. With more than 150 registered runners, Community Options raised approximately $10,500.
Postponed from Feb. 8 because of the weather, Cupid’s Chase is the largest, national simultaneous charity 5K run in the country held by any nonprofit organization. More than 100 runners participated, many wearing “Available” and “Unavailable” shirts during the race in hopes of sparking a love connection.
“I am extremely proud to have this as our organization’s most important event,” said Robert Stack, founder, president and CEO of Community Options. “We hope that participants recognize the impact they are making in improving the lives of people we support by simply registering for the event.”
For 25 years, Community Options has developed housing and employment programs for people with disabilities. Providing advocacy assistance to empower people with disabilities, Community Options believes that all people, regardless of disability level, should live and work in the community with dignity, choice and self-determination.
