Dealership donates 12 cars to nonprofit organization
Mini of Morristown recently made a big donation to a nonprofit organization. Last month, the dealership donated 12 Mini electric vehicles to Community Options Inc. for a one-year field trial.
In 2007, Community Options, which develops community-based housing and innovative employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities, decided to go paperless and use green cleaning products in its group homes and businesses. Using electric cars is one more motion in the organization’s drive toward going green.
“We are thrilled to receive this donation of 12 Mini electric vehicles to utilize in a year long field trial,” said Robert Stack, president and chief executive officer of Community Options. “Mini of Morristown has made a great decision in choosing our operation to operate these electric cars as we have the work force that can put these vehicles to the test. It also demonstrates our organization’s commitment to sustaining the environment.”
Community Options will use the vehicles throughout their entrepreneurial businesses and group homes in New Jersey. The organization will be blogging about their experience with the Mini electric vehicles on www.communityoption.blogspot.com. The Princeton-based Community Options maintains an office in Morristown.
