Foster & Adoptive Family Services Donates Adaptive Aid Equipment
Children receiving residential support in Northern New Jersey recipients of new Equipment
Wayne, January 30, 2009: Community Options, Inc. had the fortunate opportunity of receiving a generous donation from the Foster and Adoptive Family Services (FAFS) to assist children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Community Options operates 3 children’s group homes throughout Northern New Jersey serving a total of 6 children. These children are part of the CPEP (Children’s Placement Enhancement Pilot) offered through the Department of Human Services, Division of Developmental Disabilities.
Community Options, Inc. opened their first children’s group home on May 1, 2008 and an additional two group homes in October 2008. “Having the ability to work with children and their families through this program has been a great process for us,” says, Jessica Guberman, Executive Director of Community Options. Guberman also said, “ We are so appreciative to Foster and Adoptive Family Services for such a generous gift and we hope to partner on other projects in the future.”
The mission of Foster and Adoptive Family Services is to meet the special needs of foster and adoptive families and to advocate for improved foster care and adoption services. FAFS’ dedicated volunteers and professional staff work relentlessly as frontline advocates to serve foster, kinship and adoptive families in an objective and empathetic manner. They strive for excellence, and build trusting relationships with all those they serve.
