Gentle Teacher joins national nonprofit to advance best practices
(Tuesday, June 15, 2010, Princeton, NJ)- Marge Brown, long time thought leader and advocate for Gentle Teaching has recently joined Community Options, a Princeton- based, national nonprofit organization that develops home s and employment supports for people with disabilities. In her role, Marge will head the Quality Assurance Department in all aspects of nationwide compliance, systems and data collection.
“We have always done a tremendous job with our quality assurance requirements, however, just as funding streams are changing on a daily basis so are the vehicles for compliance throughout all of the services we offer. We want to always be at the top of our game and be ahead of the trends,” said Robert Stack, President and CEO of Community Options.
Brown has worked all over the world as an advocate for de-institutionalization and non-violent support programs, collecting and analyzing data to demonstrate the advantages of community living. Most recently she has worked with Gentle Teaching Founder, Dr. John McGee and Department of Justice personnel in monitoring compliance with de-institutionalization initiatives in Puerto Rico and Nebraska.
“I have been involved with the great work of Community Options for over twenty years. It is my pleasure to work alongside the phenomenal staff and leadership of the organization,” says Brown.
