It’s wise to boost wages for caregivers

Gov. Phil Murphy has been a tremendous advocate to increase the minimum wage to shepherd an era for a robust New Jersey. Now, Senate President Steve Sweeney, D-Gloucester, has introduced legislation (S1194) to increase the wages for those who are the caregivers of New Jersey’s most vulnerable citizens, people with disabilities. This is a difficult job that requires strong dedication and commitment.
Helen Keller said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” Sometimes it takes the issue of caring for others as such an important value to ostensibly show how much more we all have in common.
