NORTH JERSEY, NJ — Love is in the air and in the football stadium.

As we inch ever closer to Valentine’s Day and the Super Bowl, North Jersey is featuring plenty of themed weekend events.

From a speed dating event to a chocolate-covered strawberry workshop, to a major Super Bowl party, there are many fun and interesting activities.

Here’s a look at some of the events in the area:

Saturday

Speed Dating in New Jersey | Ages 24-38 | Singles Event: Zoni Restaurant, West New York
A low-key, sophisticated approach to dating in Jersey.
The event runs from 7 to 9 p.m.

Deep Purple: State Theatre New Jersey, New Brunswick
With a body of work spanning seven decades, Deep Purple has helped pioneer and define the hard rock genre while progressively moving into new areas.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Cupid’s Chase 5K: Glen Rock Municipal Pool, Glen Rock
This event invites runners, walkers and rollers to help raise funds to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
Check-in starts at 8 a.m., and the race begins at 10 a.m.
