Columbia, SC – Community Options, Inc. today announced the appointment of Lindsey Daniel as State Director of South Carolina, where she will oversee the organization’s residential, employment, and day habilitation services throughout the state.

Community Options is a national nonprofit that supports 5,000 people with disabilities through innovative housing and employment programs. In South Carolina, the organization has offices in Columbia, Greenville, and Summerville, from which they support over 300 people in community-based programs.

“I’ve shared Community Options’ mission to enrich the lives of people with disabilities ever since I first entered this field in 2001,” said Lindsey Daniel. “I am honored that this great organization has recognized my ability to lead in South Carolina.”

Daniel joined Community Options as a Program Manager in 2007. Since then, Daniel’s meticulous work ethic has earned her numerous promotions within the organization, where she has held the roles of Residential Coordinator, Assistant Executive Director, and Executive Director. Daniel holds a bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of South Carolina.

Daniel has impacted the lives of many of the people Community Options supports, including Katelyn Mitchell. Katelyn lives in one of the organization’s community-based homes and is employed as an administrative assistant in the same office where Lindsey works. 

“Lindsey has inspired me to be independent. She helps me when I have trouble. She believes in me and wants the best for me. Lindsey is an awesome co-worker, and she has changed my life,” said Katelyn.

“Lindsey has been an incredible asset to our organization ever since she first joined Community Options,” said Brian Dion, Community Options’ Chief Development Officer. “She has flourished in each role she has served in, and I am beyond confident in her abilities to succeed as the new State Director of South Carolina.
