New Santa Fe Resident to Help People with Disabilities Find Housing and Jobs
PRINCETON, NJ – Last week, Community Options, Inc., a national nonprofit organization that provides housing and employment supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, announced Amy Gordon as the new Executive Director of Santa Fe, NM offices.
“My new role means a great deal to me! I feel that it is part of my calling in life to advocate for and help members of the intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) population live meaningful lives,” said Gordon. “I love assisting people in living the lives of their dreams. I am skilled in organizational capacities and interpersonal interactions.”
Originally from Tacoma, Washington, Gordon graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She has worked in the human services field for over a decade and with the IDD population for nearly eight years. While in the Lincoln area, she worked for a provider agency doing residential supports and then moved on to work for the State of Nebraska as a coordinator in the same field.
Gordon made the move to Santa Fe in 2015, joining Community Options as the Director of Employment Services. She is currently taking classes at Southwestern College where she is en route to achieving a graduate degree. Gordon is an avid fan of trail running, backpacking and mountain biking.
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to be a part of all of the upcoming positive changes at Community Options in Santa Fe,” said Gordon.
Community Options supports upwards of 25 people in the Santa Fe area.
