Nonprofit names new Senior Human Resources Director

Princeton-based Community Options, Inc. appoints new director to support workforce

(Monday, August 17, 2009 –Princeton, NJ) – Community Options, a nonprofit organization that develops community- based homes and employment supports for people with disabilities has named a new Senior Human Resource Director, Barbara Durning.

Barbara has a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Memphis and over 14 years Human Resources Management experience. She is also a member of SHRM and HRMA Princeton chapter. With a workforce of over 2,500 people made up of Direct Support Professionals, Middle, Upper, Senior and Executive management, Barbara is a welcomed addition to the Community Options team that has been supporting people with disabilities for over twenty years.

“Just because we are a nonprofit doesn’t exclude us from staying on top of our game as it relates to trends of the current business climate,” says, Robert Stack, President and CEO of Community Options, Inc. “I am thrilled ab out Barbara’s appointment with our organization and believe she will be an integral part of our daily function, organizational development, recruitment and overall sustainability as our organization continues to expand,” added Stack.

With a territory over 9 states and 30 major cities across the United States, Barbara will be charged with creating national innovative recruitment and retention strategies as well as the implementation of tools for continued organizational health. “I am excited to be part of an outstanding organization like Community Options that directly touches and makes a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities,” says, Barbara. “I look forward to assisting in the growth of the organization from a human resource perspective and supplying the resources that our employees need to do their jobs effectively, ” added Barbara.
