Positive Options

Positive Options utilizes Positive Behavior Supports to help individuals reduce challenging behaviors affecting their quality of life and develop critical communication, adaptive, and functional skills. All initiatives are rooted in respect for individuals and their families. Together, we identify socially significant goals tailored to each individual’s needs. Committed to ethical and trauma-informed treatment, Positive Options empowers individuals to achieve their most meaningful life.

The organization believes that positive approaches are crucial for success with complex behaviors. Building trusting relationships is the starting point, ensuring those supported feel safe and loved at home and in their communities. Once established, these relationships enable the replacement of challenging behaviors with healthy coping strategies. Community Options does not use any form of aversive conditioning, leading the nation in demonstrating supportive strategies for community-based programs. Staff collaborates with individuals to define their desires and needs, tailoring programmatic supports accordingly.

The Positive Options team is made up of Directors, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Behavior Support Specialists, Behavior Support Managers, Registered Behavior Technicians, Licensed Professional Counselors, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers.
